Opening of the Heritage Information Centre

Openingduring Open Monument Day on Saturday 12 September

From Saturday 12 September 2026, Putten will have its own Heritage Information Centre. In the beautiful historic building at Achterstraat 21, local heritage organisations will henceforth join forces, so that residents, tourists and anyone with an interest in Putten’s history can visit a single central location. The official opening will take place at 10.00 am during Open Monument Day and will be performed by Councillor Erik van de Poll. This will be followed by a festive performance by De Puttense Boerendansers. Everyone is warmly welcome to attend the opening and discover the new Heritage Information Centre.

An important step towards preserving Putten’s history
The Heritage Information Centre is an initiative of the Putten Cultural-Historical Heritage Platform (PCEP) and represents an important step towards the preservation and visibility of Putten’s heritage. Putten has a rich and varied history. With the launch of the Heritage Information Centre, the knowledge, stories and initiatives of the various heritage organisations are being brought together for the first time in a single central location. “The fact that Putten now has its own place where all our heritage comes together is special and makes us proud. The Heritage Information Centre will be the beating heart for anyone who wants to know more about the history of our village,” says the PCEP.

About the Heritage Information Centre
The Heritage Information Centre at 21 Achterstraat is housed in a distinctive historic building and now forms the beating heart of Putten’s cultural and historical heritage. Visitors are welcome to drop in with questions, donate historical material or simply pop in to learn about the village’s history. A presentation on Putten is also being prepared. In addition to the physical Heritage Information Centre, work is also underway on a digital meeting place. At www.historischputten.nl, knowledge, stories, activities and information from Putten’s heritage organisations are being brought together online. This means that Putten’s history will soon be accessible both in the village and online in one central location.
