A day of "Trap, Taste and Experience" in Putten
Surely, this is by far the most delicious Putten cycling route! Get off at special places in Putten and then also enjoy tasty snacks and drinks along the way.
ATTENTION: We are busy developing a new ''kick,Taste and Experience route''. As a result, it is not possible to book the package this year (2026). However, the locations can be visited separately. Ask VVV Putten for the possibilities. Keep an eye on the website for the latest updates.
On a beautiful sunny Saturday in June, I got on my bike with Linda, Marie Louise, Janet and Natasja to "experience" this route.
We gathered at 10am at Ligtrink Tweewielers. There, five reserved electric bikes were waiting for us. After a brief explanation and a small test ride, we were allowed to "go wild"!
On to the VVV, which is where the 37-kilometre route starts. After the photo opportunity, we then actually set off. The first location we got off at was at Pluktuin Het Platteland, with a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake we took a seat in the tea garden. Surrounded by retro and bric-a-brac, it was a lovely place to relax and chat a lot. For picking, it was still a little too early in the season so a good reason to come back for that again.
On to the next location; We didn't have to pedal that far for this one, Museumboerderij de Mariahoeve is a few hundred metres from the Pluktuin.
Andreas and Marianne, managers of the Mariahoeve, gave us a warm welcome and briefly explained our visit. During the audio tour of the museum, time seemed to have stood still.
The weck bottles there are still filled in the cellar and the long pants lay neatly adjusted and ironed in the linen closet. As if the old residents could walk right back in.
After a nice lunch on the terrace, it was time to move on to the3rd location.
Goat Farm De Vrolijke Geit certainly lives up to its name; the goats chattered "merrily" as we walked through the stables!
Cindy and Klaas-Jan run this beautiful farm with a lot of passion and love for the animals.
In the country shop with many local products, including from our own goats of course, we were allowed to pick something out.
Packed with some goodies, it was time to cycle to the final stop. After cycling a lot in the agricultural area, we headed into the forest towards Landgoed Schovenhorst via the cycle junctions. Arriving at Brasserie Schovenhorst , we took a seat on the terrace in the walled garden. What a special place!
While enjoying a refreshing drink and a nice warm snack, we concluded the pleasant day together here.
In conclusion, the Stairs, Taste and Experience route can be cycled from June to September from Wednesday to Saturday. Recommended start time is 10.00/10.30 am, so you can take ample time to visit all locations. Want to know more?
