Summer draws to a close with picturesque purple heathland.
Autumn is, of course, known for its beautiful autumn colours, mushrooms and the bellowing of the stags.
In a harsh winter, you can go ice skating on the Nuldernauw, cross-country skiing in the woods or simply get a lovely breath of fresh air, after which you can warm up by a cosy fire.

Have you seen them yet?
You might just run into them during your outing in the woods: wild boar, red deer, roe deer or maybe a badger.
The chance is always there, but it's still wildlife.... Want a better chance? Go in the early morning or during dusk, Be quiet and don't wear rustling clothes or perfume. Even easier: Book a visit to the Forestry Commission's wildlife arena.
