A toast in the Pluktuin

Located on the Engersteeg in Putten is Pluktuin het Platteland . For my work at VVV Putten , I have been here many times and every time this place surprises me again. Such a beautiful rural tranquillity where nature literally determines what a visit to this location looks like.

Picking Veggies

You can pick seasonal vegetables, fruit and flowers in the Pluktuin, enjoy some goodies in the coffeegarden or browse in the shop among regional products and antiques & curiosities. Today, that is not what I came here for. Today we are going High Winning!

What a party! Together with my girlfriends, I put the bike at the parking and walk into the green garden. A beautiful table is set for us and we take a seat in the bright sunshine. Harma from 'Harma arranges it' welcomes us and explains what the afternoon will look like.

High wine

While enjoying a fresh rosé and a spicy curry soup, we start the afternoon. Harma tells us in detail about the origin of the wine, what it tastes good with and why this particular wine was chosen to accompany this dish. Meanwhile, we chat endlessly and enjoy this beautiful day.

The high wine continues with a course of once again blissful wine and delicious vegetable quiches and a goat cheese-pumpkin strudel, plucked garden salad and tasty salmon appetisers. We walk around the garden to let things settle down a bit. Another one of my friends tells me that it feels like she is on holiday in France while we are less than 1.5 km from her house as the crow flies. How easy is that!

After our tour of the garden, we take our seats again to enjoy our last course: A mega delicious grand dessert with various pastries and, of course, fresh fruit from their own garden. Harma manages to surprise us with delicious wine on this round too and did not lie when choosing her company name. Harma does indeed arrange it!

What a treat it was to spend this summery Saturday afternoon at the Pluktuin. Four fantastic friends, delicious food and drink, friendly service and a beautiful setting. In short: you’ll want to do this too! And you’re in luck. You can.

On 2 July, 3 September and 4 October, Harma is once again organising a ‘high wine’ event at the Pluktuin, and you can be there. For more information, visit: High Wine at the Pluktuin | VVV Putten
Not much of a wine drinker? Harma is also well versed in HertBier’s range of beers and is happy to find a great option for those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks.

Just visiting the Pluktuin is, of course, also possible; Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
