One does not fall over the trip-stones , you trip with your head and heart
On Friday 27 January 2023 (International Holocaust Remembrance Day), the municipality of Putten, at the request of the "samen verder, Putten" foundation, placed 12 Stumbling Stones at 3 properties where a total of 12 Jewish residents were deported and lost their lives during the Second World War. The twelve Stolpersteinen for Jewish victims are located at Harderwijkerstraat 91 (7 stones), Grieteweg 10 (2 stones), Stationsstraat 82 (2 stones ). A twelfth Stolperstein has been placed near De Vanenburg estate in memory of the victims of the former labour camp at that site. The Stolpersteinen also bring this far-reaching part of Putten's history to life in a personal way.
