From dream to inspiring meeting location

The idea for the Biota Huis was born from the dream of Natasja Dik and her husband Jan. For many years, they have been a strong team together; not only as life partners, but also as former owners of a dental practice. When you are entrepreneurial, it can be difficult to move in a new direction, especially when you have been running a thriving business for a long time. But for Natacha and Jan, this was precisely what prompted them to follow their passion and make room for something new.

Meadow full of possibilities

Natasja: 'After my partner Jan and I enjoyed running a dental practice for many years, we felt it was time for something new. We had so many plans and ideas, but no room in our heads to implement them yet. When we bought a piece of meadow with an old barn from our neighbour, we didn't yet know what we wanted to do with it. But after a midweek retreat, I came home with the idea of turning it into a multifunctional meeting place.

It had to be a place where people feel at home as soon as they step inside. Where you can enjoy the fresh air, the sound of birds, the presence of horses and sheep, and the green surroundings. A place where you can unwind, get inspired and meet people. A safe place where you can be yourself.'

Building and doing business together

Jan was immediately enthusiastic and we set to work in good spirits. Jan is a real all-rounder and loves to build. I, on the other hand, am good at entrepreneurship and working out my 1001 plans. Fortunately, together we form a nice team, which is very important. The plan for the Biota Huis was born and we were determined to make something beautiful out of it. "We can do that and we dare to do that - we thought to ourselves."

And so the building began. The barn was demolished and transformed from a building site into a beautiful home. We gathered people around us with whom we would really like to work, with whom you can make good arrangements and who are just as enthusiastic as we are about building this with us. Building the Biota Huis together!

Meeting house in nature

'Our dream is not just about building a house. It is also about putting down a business and meeting place. A business we want to be proud of and in which we can put our passion.

The Biota Huis is a place where we plan to organise various activities. From yoga classes to book clubs, workshops to photo shoots. It will be a place where fine people can inspire each other and where like-minded people meet.

What started as a dream grew into a wonderful meeting place. The Biota Huis is the place in which we can express our passion and of which we are proud. A place where everyone can feel at home. We hope that the Biota Huis may be a home in nature for you, for all your meaningful gatherings. That is what we are all about in the end.'
