Touring the Veluwe; "From Castle to Herd"

On the shelf at the VVV for several years now; Autoroute "van Kasteel tot Kudde".
In bad weather or if you are slightly less mobile, this is a fun way to explore the area!

To ensure our visitors have the best possible experience, we regularly check the routes to make sure they are still correct. So instead of spending a morning in the tourist office, I spent a morning in the car.

From the VVV office on the Kerkplein, I drove via Garderen towards Staverden, the smallest town in the Benelux. A great place to stop by the Castle and visit the visitor centre or enjoy a bite to eat and a drink in the Brasserie. Alas, I'm at work and only stop to catch a glimpse of the beautiful surroundings.

I continue the route and arrive at the small village of Assel via Hoog Soeren, this stretch of the route is my favourite. These are the places where you feel like you have landed abroad, special and so close. A little further on I stop at the car park, from here it is a short walk to the Hoog Buurlo sheepfold, a nice break to stretch your legs.

After getting some fresh air and having a quick look at the sheep, I drive along a dirt road past a beautiful heathland area, "Wow! How beautiful the Veluwe is!"

After an 80-kilometre ride, I arrive back at the Kerkplein in Putten. The route is checked again and available at the VVV office.
