Walking route

Walking through the woods and across the moors, you will come across several relics from the prehistoric past. Follow the orange arrows. On the large boulders you will find historical information about Putten. On the artwork 'Woodhenge' inspired by 'Stonehenge', you will see a timeline with important dates from Putten's history. You will also pass the centre of gravity. Discover burial mounds along the route and enjoy the beautiful view over the Veluwe on the Bostoren.

Woodhenge

Art work 'the Woodhenge' does a storytelling on the history of Putten. This sculpture shows numbers in a timeline, listing important dates representing Putten's history.

Frans Storbeck, computer scientist and geologist, calculated the zwaartepunt van Nederland in 1984. He calculated the kilometre coordinates 472.7 north and 171.8 east, located within the territory of the municipality of Putten.
In 1984, a stone with a ring was placed at the location of the centre of gravity with the text "Lift the Netherlands by this ring and no one will notice".
