The ’t Hert grain mill is a striking feature in the centuries-old village of Putten. The mill harks back to the time when wheat fields dominated the landscape of the Puttereng and stood then as a sentinel at the entrance to the village. The mill operates every Saturday. The current mill was built in 1899 to replace a predecessor that burnt down in 1898, having been in service for at least a hundred years. The mill has been thoroughly restored over the years. During this work, the sail cross, tail, ring beam, capstan and thatched roof were replaced. At present, the mill grinds wheat for the baker and rye for pig feed.
The mill is in operation every Saturday.
